Zipato Z-wave Water/Gas Valve Controller and water sensing.
This article is to highlight what the Zipato Z-wave water/gas valve controller is and which Z-wave controllers it will work with and its uses. Uses for the valve controller include but are not limited to: valve control and valve control with the option to control the valve controller based on a water leak.

Content
The Zipato Z-wave Water/Gas Valve Controller is a device meant to be mounted on existing quarter-turn or ball valve to control the flow. Here at Worthington we’ve been able to get the Valve Controller to work with a few Z-wave controllers including the Zipato Zipabox, Zipato Zipamini, Zipato Zipatile, Vera Controls Vera Plus, Vera Controls Vera Edge, Fibaro Home Center 2 and last but not least the Leviton VRC0P. In all of these controllers the valve controller shows up as a generic on/off switch but with certain minor setting changes you can make it show up as a water valve.
Application:
Your customer has a situation where they would like to control the main water valve into their home and they have a ball valve / quarter turn valve installed already you can outfit it with the Zipato Z-wave Valve Controller to turn off the water supply, without a plumber, while the customer is not home or turn the water valve off when a water sensor senses water.
Results
If properly installed and paired with the Z-wave hub and water sensor you should be able to not only control the water valve but you can also program a trigger based on whether or not a water sensor sensed water. You will also have the option for remote control through the interface.
